[Exclusive] Vietnam Head of Bridge Engineering Firm Dalee Dies in Lake Accident During Leisure Activity

[Alpha Biz= Ellie Kim] A senior executive at South Korean infrastructure materials company Dalee has died in Vietnam after going missing during a water leisure activity.

According to local authorities, the head of Dalee’s Vietnam subsidiary, identified as Mr. A, disappeared on May 1 (local time) while stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) with an acquaintance at Da Den Lake in Ba Ria–Vung Tau Province near Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police launched a large-scale search operation, deploying divers to locate the missing individual. His body was recovered the following day, May 2.

Da Den Lake is known for its deep waters and has been flagged as a high-risk area where drowning incidents have occurred in the past.

Mr. A was a veteran figure in Korea’s civil engineering and infrastructure sector, overseeing Dalee’s production base in Vietnam and leading its expansion across Southeast Asia.

Dalee specializes in bridge construction materials, including patented steel structures such as brackets and supports used in bridge assembly. The company is known as a key partner to major South Korean builders including DL E&C, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Daewoo Engineering & Construction, and POSCO E&C.
